Ewa Pytka

Director, producer, screenwriter, journalist, lecturer at the University of Warsaw, Poland & Warsaw Film School, poet and singer. Graduate of the literature department at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, directing in the Łódź Film School and the Northern School of Film and TV in Leeds, England. In 2007 she completed the EAVE producers workshop and in 2012 Trans Atlantic Partners - a training of international co-productions. Since 2006, Director of independent production house Python Studioss. Author of 100 creative documentaries directed mostly for Polish National TV (TVP) and also for ARTE and ZDF, including Der Bernsteinwald (The Amberwood) for the prestigious series TERRA X. She was an Executive Production Consultant on the special national television culture channel TVP Kultura. In 2007 she was nominated for Woman of The Year ‘2007 by Polish women’s weekly Wysokie Obcasy for her documentary Breaking The Silence. Women’s Rights In Central and Eastern Europe. She directed over 200 episodes of various TV fiction series : Będziesz moja! (You will be mine!); Plebania (the Presbytery); Pierwsza miłość (First Love) and TV dramas: Zima pod stołem (Winter Under The Table) by Roland Topor and The Tail Operation awarded at History Makers 2011 in New York in category the best historical drama. In 2010 she scripted, directed and produced a magic comedy Silence Is Golden, her feature fiction debut. It had its first theatre screening at Cannes 2010, and its American premiere was on 24th July 2011 at the Stony Brook Film Festival. Recently she directed tv drama" Breakout" in 2016 and "Victoria" by Joanna Murray-Smith in 2017 both for Polish TV TVP 1. She was also Chairperson of the Polish jury at the Banff World Media Festival in the serial drama category  2011-2016 and she was a member of The Grand Prize Jury in Banff 2012. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the field of Film in 2017.

Czesława Miłosza historia literatury polskiej XX wieku; Jan Kott – teatr mojego wieku; Stefan Chwin – archeolog pamięci; Podróże Olgi T. (Tokarczuk). Wyreżyserowała odcinki seriali telewizyjnych: Będziesz moja; O czym szumią kierpce; Plebania; Barwy szczęścia i Pierwsza miłość oraz teatry TV: Zima pod stołem wg Rolanda Topora i Operacja Reszka Włodzimierza Kuligowskiego, za którą otrzymała prestiżową Nagrodę Specjalną Jury na History Makers 2011 w Nowym Jorku. W 2005 współtworzyła kanał tematyczny TVP Kultura. Dla teatru im. St. Wyspiańskiego w Katowicach wyreżyserowała sztukę A. Słapowskiego pt. Klincz wg własnego przekładu. W 2007 otrzymała nominację do Kobiety Roku 2007 od redakcji Wysokich Obcasów za film Przełamując ciszę. Prawa kobiet w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej. W kinie zadebiutowała w 2010 filmem Milczenie jest złotem wg własnego scenariusza. OStatnio wyreżyserowała teatr tv pt. Breakout dla TVP1 2016 oraz "Victorię" wg Joanny Murray-Smith w 2017r. dla TVP 1. Od 2011-2016  roku jurorka Banff World Media Festival w Kanadzie. W 2012 roku członkini pięcioosobowego Grand Prize Jury reprezentująca Europę Środkowo-Wschodnią. Stypendystka Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego z dziedziny filmu w 2017r.
